Background
René is self-taught as a musician and trained formally as a sound therapist and gong master. His personal project, The Medicine of Sound, treats music as a tool for collective healing, drawing on instruments collected from travels across the world.
How he works
His sessions fuse instruments from many cultures — Tibetan bowls, gongs, frame drums, voice — into what he calls a sonic alchemy. He works in nature where possible, aiming to restore inner harmony through resonance and breath.
Where to find him
René is in residence at Palmaïa, The House of AïA on the Playa del Carmen coast, where he leads regular sound healing rituals and gong baths for guests of the wellness retreat. He also leads sound healing trainings.
