María Fernanda Sánchez

Sacred Chanting & Nada Yoga teacher

María Fernanda Sánchez is co-founder of Ananda Yoga México in San Cristóbal de las Casas and the founder of Sacred Chanting México. After studying for a year (2009–2010) in Tiruvannamalai, India, she received the blessing of the Vallalar Trust to share the Nada Yoga lineage of Master Swami Ramalinga Vallalar. Her work centers on mantra, kirtan and the healing vibration of the human voice rather than peak sonic experience.

Background

María Fernanda has more than 20 years of yoga teaching and direct study in the Vallalar lineage in Tamil Nadu. In 2017 she founded Sacred Chanting México to share Nada Yoga — yoga of sacred sound — across the country, with Ananda Yoga in San Cristóbal as her home base since 2009.

How she works

Her sessions blend Sanskrit and Tamil mantra, kirtan, harmonium and singing-bowl work. The frame is devotional rather than therapeutic-clinical: voice and group chant carry the room, and Tibetan bowls anchor longer meditative passages.

Where to find her

Regular kirtans, sound-healing evenings and mantra workshops are held at Ananda Yoga México in central San Cristóbal de las Casas. She also runs 200-hour teacher trainings and Mantra Yoga modules, plus occasional online programs.
