Lucy Sessions
Voice Medicine teacher & Casa Ixchel founder
Lucy Sessions is the founder of Voice Medicine and of Casa Ixchel Retreats, set in cloud forest at 2,700 meters in a Tzotzil village twenty minutes outside San Cristóbal de las Casas. UK-born and ten-plus years in Chiapas, she is a professional singer and Theta-healing practitioner whose work centres on the human voice as the core healing instrument, layered with harp, drum and bowls. Sessions feel more like guided improvisation than a passive sound bath.
Current sessions
- ◦ Bespoke 2–7 day Casa Ixchel retreats with one-on-one mentorship
- ◦ Voice Medicine private sessions (in-person & online)
- ◦ Sound baths with voice, harp, drum and bowls
- ◦ From the Ashes grief-support work
Background
Lucy is a professional singer with four albums and thousands of shows across the UK, Europe and Mexico. She holds a BA Honours in Creative and Performance Studies, a UK Post-Graduate teaching qualification (QTS), Theta-Healing certification and grief-education training through David Kessler’s program. She has also studied with local curanderas in Chiapas.
How she works
Voice Medicine treats the voice itself as the medicine — singing, vocal improvisation, breath, somatic centering and Theta healing combined to dissolve limiting patterns and free expression. Group sessions and sonic journeys layer harp, drum and crystal/Tibetan bowls underneath the voicework. Pace is slow and intimate; numbers are small.
